Esta Norma Venezolana especifica un método para la determinación del número Kappa de la pulpa. El número Kappa es una indicación del contenido de lignina (dureza o solidez relativa) o del grado de blanqueado de la pulpa. Cabe señalar que no hay una relación general e inequívoca entre el número Kappa y el contenido de lignina de una pulpa. La relación varía de acuerdo con la especie de madera y el proceso de dilignificación usado. Si el número Kappa es usado para derivar un indice de contenido de lignina de una pulpa, deberán desarrollarse las relaciones específicas para cada tipo de pulpa. Valores por encima a 125 para pulpa Kraft y valores mayores a 100 para pulpa de sulfito deben interpretarse con precaución. |
